STATEMENT FROM THE EAST KEILOR CRICKET CLUB COMMITTEE
⸻
East Keilor Cricket Club is deeply disappointed by a recent false accusation made online against our Club President.
These baseless claims are hurtful and damaging — not only to the individual targeted but to the entire club community.
⸻
This incident highlights a broader and serious issue:
Online Bullying.
At EKCC, we have zero tolerance for bullying — towards our kids, families, and volunteers.
⸻
Our club is built on the dedication of volunteers — people who give their time, energy, and heart to create a safe and supportive environment.
No one signs up to be disrespected, lied about, or targeted — especially not hardworking volunteers like our President.
This behaviour is unacceptable and goes against everything we stand for.
⸻
We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all players, families, and volunteers.
As a community, we all have a role to play — especially parents.
Children learn by example, and it’s vital that we model respectful behaviour and teach them that gossip, bullying, and harmful online behaviour are never okay.
Social media can be a powerful tool, but it can also be dangerous.
We must help our kids navigate it safely, with empathy and integrity.
⸻
Our values guide everything we do at EKCC, and we call on everyone to help us uphold them:
• RESPECT – We treat ourselves and others as we would like to be treated.
• TEAMWORK – We stick together, carry the load with our teammates, and look out for one another.
• DIVERSITY – We welcome people with different experiences, opinions, and voices.
• HONOUR – We know that the right thing to do is the only thing to do.
⸻
We remind our community — especially our young people — that they are not alone.
If you are being bullied, speak up.
Talk to a trusted adult — a parent, teacher, coach, or the club’s Child Safety Officer.
Support is available, and help is always here.
